30-Year-Old Ontario Woman Killed, 2 Injured in Sugarloaf Pedestrian Crash at Barton and Holmes Lanes

Sugarloaf, California (February 2, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Sunday evening hit-and-run pedestrian crash that killed a 30-year-old Ontario woman and left two other pedestrians injured in Sugarloaf.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 6:00 p.m., on January 31, at the intersection of Barton and Holmes Lanes.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Toyota Highlander, driven by a Sugarloaf man driving, was westbound on Barton Lane when it allegedly struck three pedestrians walking on the roadway.
2 Injured in Fatal Sugarloaf Pedestrian Crash
The 30-year-old Ontario woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 22-year-old Henderson man, and a 29-year-old Long Beach man, were injured in the accident. The Henderson man was taken to Bear Valley Community Hospital, and the other man declined medical treatment.
The involved driver fled the scene but was later arrested.
