Stockton, California (September 28, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a major pedestrian accident that left an elderly man with severe injuries Thursday morning in Stockton.

The deadly collision was reported at the intersection of Fred Russo Drive and March Lane at around about 6:24 a.m. Thursday, September 26.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an 85-year-old man was struck by a car for unknown reasons.

Firefighters attended to the man who suffered serious injuries in the collision. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately released.

Authorities said the involved motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the scene after the accident.
