St. Helena, California (April 21, 2021) – A rider was hospitalized with serious injuries following a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon in St. Helena, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the crash occurred on eastbound Highway 128 at mile marker 1704 just about 3:50 p.m. on April 18.

The accident involved a white Honda CBR 1000RR motorcycle and a white Chevrolet 1500 that crashed in the afternoon hours for undetermined reasons.

Due to the impact, the pickup truck acquired a broken rear axle while the bike had major damage.

Major Injury Motorcycle Crash

Paramedics responded to the scene and rushed the unidentified rider to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries sustained in the mishap.

Details regarding the involved motorist were not established at the time of the report.

Meanwhile, both lanes of Highway 128 were shut down for an unknown time.

The accident remains under investigation.
