South Lake Tahoe Accident on Highway 50 Injures One Person

South Lake Tahoe, California (May 31, 2021) – Authorities have peacefully arrested the hit-and-run driver, 31-year-old Corey Kalata, following a traffic collision that injured one person in South Lake Tahoe Saturday afternoon, May 29.
The car crash took place in the afternoon hours on Highway 50.
As per the South Lake Tahoe Police report, Corey’s car crashed with other automobiles on the highway for undetermined reasons.

One unidentified person riding in the victim’s vehicle was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, Kalata did not stop to render aid and fled the scene erratically into the Tahoe Keys area. The suspect was later found and arrested on suspicion of hit and run. Corey was reportedly held on $10,000 bail.
