Corona, California (November 2, 2020) – The Riverside County coroner’s office has identified the woman who died in a traffic accident Sunday morning in Corona as Sophia McClendon, 48, of Corona.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident happened at about 11 a.m. Sunday, November 1, in the eastbound lanes of Riverside (91) Freeway near Serfas Club Drive.

The CHP said several vehicles, including a motorcycle, collided on the freeway for unknown reasons.

Although the events leading up to the crash were not immediately established, the impact of the collision sent the motorcycle off the roadway and into an embankment while a car ended up in the Fastrak toll lanes.

Sophia was pronounced dead at the scene at around 11:18 a.m.

It is unclear how many people were injured in the crash.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
