Solano County, California (May 7, 2019) – A wrong-way driver died and five others hurt in a traffic accident in Solano County Sunday night.

The accident was reported at around 11:00 p.m. May 5, on Highway 505 north of Vacaville.

The accident happened when a 2009 Toyota Camry driven by a male party collided head-on with a 2008 Honda Civic on the highway. Toyota was reported to have been traveling in the wrong way at the time of the collision. Due to the impacts, one of the vehicles was fully engulfed in flames.

The Toyota driver was reported dead at the scene following the crash. Two more victims from Vacaville riding in the Honda sustained significant injuries in the wreck. The injured parties were taken to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center by an ambulance. Three others suffered minor hurts but were treated at the scene.

Meanwhile, the investigation is still ongoing.
