Solano County, California (September 8, 2020) – One person was killed early Monday morning in a multi-vehicle crash near Vacaville in Solano County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The deadly four-vehicle accident happened just before 3:00 a.m. Monday, September 7, on Interstate Highway 80 near the Oday Road exit.

According to the CHP, an Audi and a BMW collided in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80. After the crash, both drivers stopped in the median to exchange information.

As the two drivers were outside their vehicles, a third vehicle crashed into them, pushing the BMW into its driver. The driver was pinned between the BMW and the highway center median.

Moments later, a fourth vehicle crashed into the three vehicles.

Deadly Car Accident on Highway 80 in Solano County

One person died in the crash. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.

 The other involved parties sustained minor injuries. 

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
