Shoe Tree, CA: Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 395

Shoe Tree, California (July 27, 2020) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash involving three vehicles on Saturday night in Shoe Tree, authorities said.

At about 9:00 p.m., on July 25, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly three-vehicle accident on Highway 395.

The CHP said a 2015 Chevrolet pickup, driven by a 38-year-old man from Hayward, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of the highway at a high rate of speed.

At the same time, a 2016 Chevrolet, driven by R. Wilson, 54, of Reno, was also traveling southbound on the highway. Wilson swerved to the right shoulder to avoid a head-on collision and, unfortunately, he was sideswiped by the truck, the officials said.

The pickup truck finally collided head-on with another vehicle, operated by a 43-year-old male from Houston, Texas, who was driving southbound behind Wilson’s Chevrolet.
