Shawn Ryan Killed in Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash on SR 36 in Humboldt
Shawn Ryan ID’d as Man Killed in Humboldt Accident on State Route 36 near Dinsmore Airport

Humboldt, California (November 26, 2020) – The Humboldt County Coroner’s office has identified the man who died in a single-vehicle traffic accident Tuesday morning in Humboldt as Shawn Ryan, 34, of Eureka.
The deadly accident, which was reported at around 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, happened on State Route 36 near Dinsmore Airport.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2002 GMC pickup, driven by Ryan, was heading westbound on State Route 36 when, for undetermined reasons, it veered off the roadway and rollover over before hitting a tree.
Paramedics responded to the scene and performed CPR on Ryan. Despite life-saving measures, Ryan did not survive his injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities said Ryan was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
