Sharon DeLamore ID’d as 70-Year-Old Woman Killed in Benicia Pedestrian Accident on East Fifth Street
Benicia, California (January 8, 2019) – The Benicia Police Department has released the identity of a woman hit and killed by a hit-and-run motorist Saturday evening in Benicia.
Sharon DeLamore, 70, died in the accident that was reported at around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, January 5 in the 1000 block of East Fifth Street.
According to the police, DeLamore was lying by the side of the road on East Fifth Street when she was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
The elderly woman was found unconscious by emergency responders. She was then was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she was pronounced deceased at the hospital on Sunday night.
Police are searching for the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. The vehicle is suspected to be a red or maroon sedan that may have front-end damage. Anyone with information regarding this accident is urged to contact the Benicia Police Department at (707) 745-3411.
