Sebastopol, CA: Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Crash on Occidental Road

Sebastopol, California (May 21, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed Friday morning in a collision with a car in Sebastopol, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened at around 8:21 a.m. on Occidental Road, just west of High School Road.

CHP said a Yamaha motorcycle was heading eastbound on Occidental Road when the rider cross over double yellow lines to pass a slower vehicle.

For unknown reasons, the motorcyclist collided head-on with a Chevrolet SUV. A Mercedes SUV traveling eastbound struck the right side of the Chevrolet.

Paramedics responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist unresponsive as a result of the crash. Sadly, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The Chevrolet driver and her juvenile passengers were not injured in the crash. The driver of the Mercedes and her passenger were also unhurt.

Officers closed Occidental Road at High School Road following the incident.
