Sean Vasko and 3 Children Critically Hurt in Amador Head-On Crash on Highway 49
Amador, California (June 13, 2019) – A total of four people were critically injured in a fatal head-on- crash in Amador Monday afternoon.
The fatal collision was reported at about 3:45 p.m. June 10,on Highway 49 near Sandra Road in Calaveras County Line
The accident happened when a 2014 Lexus RX350 driven by 95-year-old Thomas Diermier of San Andreas on the Highway crossed over a double-yellow line into the southbound lane to pass a logging truck. The older man then collided head-on with a 2018 GMC Denali driven by Vasko. Due to the impact, both cars sustained significant damage, and the Lexus became fully engulfed in flames following the wreck.

A local news source indicated that Vasko, a Plymouth resident, and three 12-year-old children were seriously injured as a result of the accident. Vasko and his young passengers were immediately transported to various hospitals in Sacramento and Jackson for treatment.
Their current condition at this time remained unknown.
Diermier was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
