SDPD Officer Jamie Park Among 3 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on I-5 in San Ysidro
Jamie Park Killed in San Ysidro Crash on Interstate 5 near State Route 905
San Ysidro, California (June 5, 2021) – San Diego Police Department Officer Jamie Huntley Park, 33, was among three people who were killed in a wrong-way crash on Friday morning in San Ysidro, according to the authorities.
The incident took place on Interstate 5 near State Route 905 at around 10:25 a.m.
CHP said a Honda Civic was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on southbound Interstate 5 when it collided with an oncoming white Ford sedan.
The Ford caught fire following the crash.
Jamie Park Killed in San Ysidro Wrong-Way Collision
Jamie, a detective with the SDPD Southern Division, and her husband, Ryan Park, 32, who was also a San Diego police officer, were riding in the Ford when the accident occurred.
The couple and the wrong-way driver were all killed in the accident.
All lanes of I-5 were closed at SR 905 for the investigation.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
