1 Killed, Fernando Aguilera Arrested after Santa Rosa Car Crash on Highway 101 near River Road
Santa Rosa, California (March 22, 2019) – One person was killed and another one arrested after a crash suspected to have involved a drunk driver on Wednesday night in Santa Rosa, according to the CHP.
The wreck happened at about 10:59 p.m. March 20, on Highway 101 south of River Road.
CHP said a preliminary investigation showed that a silver Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when it rear-ended a blue Honda Civic.
1 Killed in Santa Rosa Car Accident
The impact pushed the Honda off the side of the road where it struck the guardrail and rolled into a fence and a tree.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
Fernando Aguilera Arrested after Santa Rosa DUI Crash
Authorities arrested the driver of the Ford on suspicion of DUI. The driver, identified as Fernando Aguilera, 31, of Santa Rosa, had reportedly been convicted of DUI twice before.
The crash is under investigation.
