Person Dies in Santa Monica Train Accident at Colorado and 17th Street Station
Santa Monica, California (January 16, 2019) – A pedestrian died after being struck and dragged by a Metro train on Tuesday morning in Santa Monica, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The accident happened at about 8:28 a.m. January 15 at the Colorado and 17th Street station.
It’s unclear what the pedestrian was doing on the tracks when the accident happened.
Deputies said the victim was pronounced dead shortly after.
The crash caused a temporary suspension in the train services between the station and the Downtown terminal on 4th street.
The authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
