One Injured in Santa Cruz County Car Accident on Highway 9 and Brackney Road

Santa Cruz County, California (September 7, 2020) – At least one person was injured Saturday night in an alleged DUI hit-and-run accident at an intersection in Santa Cruz County, according to a local news source.
The two-vehicle crash happened at around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, September 5, at the intersection of Highway 9 and Brackney Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white SUV collided with a silver Honda CR-V in the southbound lane of Highway 9 at Brackney Road. The Honda was totalled following the crash.

Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to one occupant of the Honda CR-V, who sustained unspecified injuries as a result of the crash. The name and condition of the victim at this time were not disclosed.
The female driver of the SUV fled the scene but was later arrested. She was booked into jail on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
