Santa Clara, California (March 23, 2021) – The Santa Clara Police Department is investigating the cause of a pedestrian accident that happened Monday morning in Santa Clara.

Authorities said the crash took place on Monroe Street between Bowers Avenue and Francis Street at about 8:20 a.m.

An individual was hit by a vehicle while walking on the street in the morning hours.

The involved motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the law enforcers.

It was not immediately established whether the victim was transported to the hospital for further medical aid.

The wreck resulted in the closure of a section of Monroe Street to abut at 11:45 a.m.,

An investigation into the collision is underway.
