Santa Clara, California (November 4, 2020) – A pedestrian was killed, and another was injured after they were struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Santa Clara, according to authorities.

At about 4:45 p.m., the authorities received a report about the accident in the area of Montague Expressway and Mission College Boulevard.

According to the authorities, two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Montague Expressway and Mission College Boulevard.

One of the pedestrians died at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.

The second pedestrian sustained unspecified injuries in the crash. The current condition of the patient remained undisclosed.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and was cooperative, the authorities said. It is undetermined if distracted driving, alcohol, or drugs were a factor in the collision.

Police blocked the roadway for the investigation.
