Elderly Man Dies in Santa Barbara County Crash on Highway 101 at Nojoqui Summit

Santa Barbara County, California (May 3, 2021) – A two-vehicle collision has claimed the life of an elderly man Monday morning in Santa Barbara County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash took place just after 7:30 a.m. on Highway 101 at the Nojoqui Summit.
The CHP said a vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered into the northbound lane, where it collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by an 80-year-old Santa Barbara man.

The elderly driver died in the crash. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The other driver was not injured.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
