Santa Barbara, California (May 20, 2021) – At least one person was injured Wednesday afternoon in an alleged hit-and-run accident in Santa Barbara, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, emergency personnel responded to U.S. Route 101 near Carillo Street in response to the report of a traffic collision involving two vehicles.

A silver Honda Civic is reported to have collided with another vehicle in the southbound lane of Highway 101.

After the impact, the Honda went off the roadway.

One person complained of pain after the crash. The patient, described as an adult male victim, was treated at the scene by the medical personnel before taking him to a local hospital for further treatment.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
