Two Police Officers Hospitalized after Santa Ana Accident at Washington Avenue and Lowell Street
Santa Ana, California (November 21, 2020) – Two Santa Ana police officers were injured Friday night in an alleged DUI car crash at an intersection in Santa Ana, according to a local news source.
The accident, which was reported at around 10:47 p.m., happened at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Lowell Street.
As per the report, a civilian vehicle collided head-on with a Santa Ana patrol vehicle at the Santa Ana intersection.
Head-On Crash Involving DUI Driver in Santa Ana Injures 2 Police Officers
Two officers sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their names and current condition were not disclosed.
The driver of the civilian vehicle was pulled from the vehicle after the crash. Authorities determined that the civilian driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident.
The intoxicated driver was eventually was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
