Sandra Jones Identified as 1 of 4 Killed in Lancaster Crash on East Avenue G and North 30th Street

Lancaster, California (June 4, 2021) – Sandra Jones, 62, of Lancaster, has been identified as one of the four parties who were killed in a Friday morning traffic accident that left two other people injured in Lancaster, according to the coroner’s office.
The deadly accident involving a big rig and a 2019 Dodge Challenger transpired at about 9:11 a.m. in the area of East Avenue G and North 30th Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2019 Dodge Challenger, driven by Jones, was traveling westbound when it collided with a big rig, operated by Santos D. Torres, 44, of Corona, in the eastbound lane of Avenue G.

Sadly, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. A 59-year-old woman in the passenger seat was airlifted to Holy Cross Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Two children, boys ages 6 and 9, were transported to Antelope Valley Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
One other 5-year-old male child sustained major injuries and was flown to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Torres sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Authorities are still investigating why the Dodge was traveling on the wrong side of the road, including whether drugs or alcohol could have played a role.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
