Person Killed in San Ysidro Train Crash near Beyer Boulevard and Smythe Avenue
San Ysidro, California (March 1, 2019) – A person was fatally hit by a Metropolitan Transit System trolley late Thursday night in San Ysidro, according to the authorities.
The crash happened just before 11:40 p.m. February 28 near Beyer Boulevard and Smythe Avenue.
San Diego police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s unclear what the pedestrian was doing on the tracks when they were hit.
The location of the crash is just northeast of the Beyer Boulevard Trolley Station.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is under investigation.
