San Pasqual, California (April 3, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured late Friday afternoon in a head-on collision with a car in San Pasqual, San Diego, according to a local news source.

Police said the major injury collision occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 2 on San Pasqual Valley Road at Ramona Grade, approximately two miles east of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

As per the report, a 35-year-old man was riding his 2016 Honda RS motorcycle eastbound in a downhill grade when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the westbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming 2015 BMW 328i driven by a 40-year-old woman.

Major Injury Head-On Crash on San Pasqual Valley Road

The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was taken by paramedics to a local hospital. His name and condition were not immediately disclosed.

The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries in the crash. Her two children, ages 10 and 4, were not injured.

San Pasqual Valley Road near the Ramona Grade was closed for several hours while the investigation took place. Motorists were asked to seek alternate routes.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
