1 Dies after San Onofre Pedestrian Accident on Trestles Beach
San Onofre, California (September 18, 2020) – One person was hit and killed by a train on Friday morning in San Onofre, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. near Trestles Beach, just east of the mouth of San Mateo Creek.
According to the police, the pedestrian was struck by a Metrolink train on the railroads in unclear circumstances.
Sadly the unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
