San Mateo County, CA: Alleged DUI Multi-Car Crash on South Spruce Avenue

San Mateo, California (March 22, 2019) – A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a collision involving multiple vehicles and which left three people injured on Tuesday afternoon in San Mateo County.
According to a police report, the wreck happened at about 4:30 p.m. March 19 in the 100 block of South Spruce Avenue.
Police said Rebecca Wells, 29, of San Francisco, was driving when she struck a vehicle and caused a chain-reaction collision with two other vehicles. Well’s was reportedly riding with her two children when the accident happened.
Three people sustained minor injuries and one of them was taken to a hospital.
Wells and her children were unhurt in the crash.

Police arrested Wells at her San Francisco home. She was taken into custody on charges of DUI and child endangerment.
The crash is under investigation.
