1-Year-Old Boy Killed in San Martin Pedestrian Crash on Llagas Avenue
San Martin, California (September 2, 2020) – A 1-year-old boy was hit and killed by a vehicle on Saturday afternoon in San Martin, authorities said.
At about 3:37 p.m., on August 29, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly pedestrian accident in the 13700 block of Llagas Avenue.
The CHP said a 2008 Ford, driven by a 37-year-old woman, was parking out of a residential driveway when it struck the toddler who had walked to the driveway.
According to the officials, the child was behind the Ford, and the driver could not see him.
First responders arrived at the scene and began CPR on the boy. He was then transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
