San Marcos, California (February 5, 2020) – Three persons suffered injuries after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in San Marcos, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on January 4 at about 1:50 p.m. on state Route 78 at Nordahl Road.
As per the CHP officials, a Caltrans worker was in his pickup truck that was stopped in the eastbound shoulder of the roadway underneath the Nordahl Road overpass when he was rear-ended by a Jeep. The jeep was reportedly operated by a 41-year-old Carlsbad man.

Responding firefighters along with medical personnel arrived at the scene to render aid to the injured parties. A 61-year-old Santee man sustained a head injury and was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
A Jeep passenger, identified as a 34-year-old Carlsbad woman, was rushed to the hospital with moderate to severe head injuries. The Jeep motorist suffered cuts and bruises to right eye and face.
Authorities did not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a role in the collision.
An investigation is underway.
