Rider Hurt in San Leandro Motorcycle Accident at Fairmont Drive and Foothill Boulevard

San Leandro, California (July 12, 2019) – A motorcyclist was struck and injured by a car in the area of San Leandro Thursday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol report.
The motorcycle collision was reported at approximately 1:15 p.m. July 11, at the intersection of Fairmont Drive and Foothill Boulevard, near the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department office and the 580 Freeway.
The CHP report indicated that a Paratransit van collided with a motorcycle at the intersection for reasons still under investigation.

The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries in the crash. The victim was attended to by the paramedics who arrived at the scene shortly after the collision.
It was not clear whether or not the patient was transported to the hospital for further treatment. The identity and current condition of the wounded party have not yet been disclosed.
The detectives handling the case are gathering more details to identify the main cause of the collision.

Speeding – Driving at high speeds reduces the rider’s ability to slow or stop safely in case of a hazard, or slowed or stopped traffic. The rider ends up crashing into other cars or loses control of the motorcycle after applying emergency brakes.
