At Least 1 Injured in San Leandro Crash on 880 Freeway near Washington Avenue On-Ramp

San Leandro, California (June 12, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle collision that occurred Friday evening in San Leandro, resulting in major injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 8:13 p.m. on southbound 880 Freeway, just north of Washington Avenue on-ramp.
A white Chevrolet Volt, a red Toyota Highlander, a red Toyota Camry, and a white Hyundai Santa Fe were involved in the collision.
The Chevy driver called authorities to report the accident, saying that no one was injured in their vehicle and that two of the other cars were street racing prior to the collision.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to find at least one person with severe injuries.
