San Jose, California (August 13, 2019) – Several people were hurt when the bus they were traveling in collided with an SUV Monday afternoon in San Jose, a local news source reported.

The accident happened in the area of King Road and Cunningham Avenue near San Jose Fire Department Station 16.

Reportedly, the SUV was coming around a corner before crashing into the bus. The crash sent the bus careening into a power pole. Both vehicles caught on fire after the impact.

The bus was ferrying nine passengers, most of them seniors.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene immediately and treated several people who complained of pain. There was no one transported to a hospital.

It remains unclear if the driver of the SUV will be cited.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
