San Jose, California (May 29, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in South San Jose, according to authorities.
At around 9:20 p.m. Friday, May 28, authorities received a report about the accident in the area of Monterey Highway and Valleyhaven Way.
Authorities said a vehicle hit the pedestrian for an unknown reason at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Valleyhaven Way.
The pedestrian, whose name has not been disclosed pending family notification, was killed in the collision.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police.
The crash caused the closure of northbound Monterey Highway, just north of Branham Lane.
No further details regarding the crash were immediately given, and the accident remains under investigation.
