San Jose, California (September 15, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in a traffic accident in San Jose, according to authorities.

The deadly motorcycle crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, September 13, on northbound Interstate Highway 680, just south of Jackson Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, a 36-year-old Merced woman was riding her 1998 Kawasaki MC northbound on Interstate 680 when she swerved to avoid debris on the roadway.

The motorcycle launched her onto the pavement and was struck by two vehicles.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of family.

No other injuries were reported.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
