Man, Woman Killed in San Jose Car Accident at Alum Rock Avenue and Alexander Avenue
San Jose, California (September 27, 2020) – Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in San Jose Sunday morning, authorities said.
The deadly car accident, which was reported at around 8:15 a.m., happened at the intersection of Alum Rock Avenue and Alexander Avenue.
According to the authorities, a white work van was heading westbound on Alum Rock Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a 2002 red Nissan Maxima that was heading southbound on Alexander Avenue.
Deadly Car Accident on Alum Rock Avenue in San Jose
The male driver of the Maxima died at the scene while his female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Their names have not been disclosed pending notification of their relatives.
The driver of the van was not injured in the crash. He was arrested and booked into custody on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving.
The accident remains under investigation.
