San Joaquin, California (November 13, 2020) – One person was injured Saturday morning in a traffic accident involving three big rigs in San Joaquin, according to a local news source.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 10:50 a.m. Saturday, November 7, on Interstate 5 near the Highway 33/Highway 132 exit.

According to the CHP, three big rigs were heading northbound on Interstate 5 when, for unknown reasons, they collided.

Following the accident, the big rig drivers began pulling onto the shoulder to exchange information. The big rigs collided again.

The impact caused one of the trucks to catch fire.

The male driver was trapped inside the burning big rig and was pulled by bystanders. He sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash, authorities said.

The accident remains under investigation.
