San Francisco, California (January 21, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized Monday evening after a balcony collapsed at a home in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset District, authorities said.

The accident was reported at about 4:42 p.m. in the 1600 block of 39th Avenue.

According to the officials, a backyard deck collapsed at a two-story home on 39th Avenue for reasons still under investigation.

Two adults sustained non-life threatening injuries and were both transported to a hospital. Their names and condition at this time remained unknown.

No other injuries were reported.

The city’s Department of Building Inspection was dispatched to the crash site to evaluate the home.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
