19-Year-Old Pomona Man Killed in San Dismas Crash on 57 Freeway near Covina Boulevard

San Dismas, California (March 10, 2021) – A man was killed late Tuesday morning in a traffic accident in San Dismas, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened at around 11:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, on 57 Freeway, just south of Covina Boulevard.
The CHP said a Honda Civic was traveling on the right shoulder of the 57 Freeway when it crashed into the back of a parked 2016 Freightliner truck.
The driver of the Honda, a 19-year-old Pomona man, was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next kin.
It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
Police closed the No. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway due to the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
