San Diego, California (January 10, 2020) – The San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating the cause of the Scripps Ranch multi-vehicle accident that sent a 45-year-old woman to the hospital on Thursday evening.

According to a local news source, the three-vehicle collision took place at the intersection of Carroll Canyon Road and Businesspark Avenue at around 4:20 p.m. January 9.

The accident involved a Toyota Camry driven by a 45-year-old woman, a blue 2008 Honda minivan, and a 2013 Mercedes-Benz SUV operated by a 28-year-old man eastbound in the 9900 block of Carroll Canyon Road.

The initial report indicated that the Mercedes-Benz allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into the left side of the northbound Camry that entered the intersection on a green light.

Due to the impact, the Camry was sent onto the sidewalk. Officials said the Mercedes also struck the Honda minivan that followed behind the Camry through the green light.
