Multiple Children Injured Traffic Accident on Pepper Drive in San Diego

San Diego, California (May 18, 2019) – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision suspected to have been caused by a DUI driver on Friday night in San Diego, according to the CHP.

The wreck happened just after 7 p.m. May 17, on Pepper Drive.

CHP said a Scion was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Pepper Drive when it collided with an oncoming truck. The Scion then spun and collided with a Honda minivan.

At least six children were riding in the minivan while one was in the truck.

Multiple Injuries in San Diego Crash

In total, nine people were transported to a hospital as a result of the crash. Their injuries were not major except the Scion driver, who was seriously hurt.

Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
