Man Seriously Injured in San Diego Scooter Accident at Broadway and 4th Avenue

San Diego, California (July 19, 2021) – A scooter rider was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning at an intersection in downtown San Diego, authorities reported.
The accident happened at around 12:33 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the intersection of Broadway and 4th Avenue.
Police said a man was riding an electric scooter in the area when he collided with an Uber or Lyft driver.
After the impact, the scooter rider hit the windshield of the car and fell to the ground.
Scooter Rider Hospitalized after San Diego Collision
The scooter rider sustained major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The name of the victim and their condition were not immediately disclosed.
The driver involved stopped at the scene and was cooperative, authorities said.
Impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
