Man Seriously Injured in San Diego Hit-and-Run Accident at State Route 94 and Bancroft Drive

San Diego, California (May 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday morning in San Diego, authorities said.
Shortly before 6:00 a.m. California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to Bancroft Drive at State Route 94 in response to the report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.
According to the CHP, the pedestrian, a 74-year-old man, was walking across the on-ramp on Bancroft Drive when he was struck by a vehicle that was getting onto State Route 94 westbound.
Major Injury Pedestrian Collision in San Diego
The man was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego with major injuries. His name and condition were not immediately disclosed.
The driver did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene. There was no description of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the CHP El Cajon area office at 619-401-2000.
