San Diego, CA: Motorcyclist Fatally Hit by Wrong-Way Driver on State Route 72 near Via Monserate
Camp Pendleton Man Dies in San Diego Motorcycle Crash on State Route 76

San Diego, California (January 1, 2018) – A Camp Pendleton man was struck and killed by a wrong-way driver while operating a motorcycle early Tuesday morning near Via Monserate, CHP said.
The collision happened at about 3:54 a.m. on State Route 76.
CHP said a Lexus IS 300 was heading east in the westbound lanes of SR 76 when it collided head-on with an oncoming Suzuki motorcycle. The debris from the crash struck a third vehicle.
The 25-year-old rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Lexus was taken to Palomar Medical Center with minor injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
