Man in His Early 20s Killed in Midway District Pedestrian Crash on Midway Drive near Rosecrans Street
San Diego, California (January 7, 2019) – A Marine was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Saturday night in the Midway district, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5 in the 2700 block of Midway Drive near Rosecrans Street.
Police said the man in his early 20s left a bar in the area when he fell or walked onto Midway Drive and was hit by a vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of his relatives.
The driver involved reportedly fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian and was last seen heading towards Rosecrans Street.
The suspect was driving an older model Honda Accord which had gold metallic paint and tinted windows.
The crash is under investigation.
