53-Year-Old Woman Seriously Hurt in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on A Street near 10th Avenue
San Diego, California (March 16, 2019) – An 87-year-old man was stopped by police blocks away from the scene of an accident where he ad struck and injured a woman in downtown San Diego on Friday morning.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident crash occurred at about 11 a.m. on A Street near 10th and 11th Avenue.
The SDPD said a 53-year-old woman was in the crosswalk when she was struck by a large truck driven by the elderly man and which was going south on 10th Avenue. The driver reportedly dragged the women beneath the truck before stopping momentarily then left the scene.
Woman Seriously Hurt in San Diego Pedestrian Crash
The woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Police stopped the driver a couple of blocks form the scene and questioned him. It’s unclear whether the driver was arrested.
Police are investigating the incident.
