Driver Killed, 1 Injured in San Diego Crash on Interstate 8 near Interstate 5
San Diego, California (March 26, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday night traffic accident that killed one person and left one other party injured in Midway District in San Diego.
At about midnight on March 25, the deadly accident occurred on the interchange between Interstate 8 and Interstate 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling in an unknown direction on Interstate 8 when it crashed into a concrete pylon supporting the raised transition ramp to southbound Interstate 5.
Following the collision, the vehicle reportedly flipped over and landed on its roof.

Sadly, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene
A passenger in the car was also injured in the crash and was hospitalized for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
