73-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured in San Diego Hit-and-Run Accident at El Cajon Boulevard and Altadena Avenue

San Diego, California (December 8, 2020) – An elderly man riding a motorized wheelchair was struck and seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver Sunday night at an intersection in the Colina Del Sol neighborhood in San Diego, according to a local news source.
The major injury accident happened at around 9:55 p.m. Sunday, December 6, at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and Altadena Avenue, just east of Interstate 15.
Authorities said a vehicle was traveling eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard when it hit a 73-year-old man who was riding a motorized wheelchair southbound across El Cajon Boulevard outside a marked crosswalk.
Man in Wheelchair Injured in Colina Del Sol Hit-and-Run Accident
The man sustained fractures to the tibula and fibula in one of his legs following the accident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His name and current condition were not diclosed.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the accident. There were no descriptions of the suspect vehicle or the driver.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
The accident remains under investigation.
