1 Severely Injured after Salinas Crash on Highway 101 and Spence Road

Salinas, California (March 9, 2019) – A driver was severely injured after a traffic collision early Saturday morning in the area of Salinas, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The accident happened at around 1:06 a.m. Saturday, on Highway 101 and Spence Road.
As per the report, a big rig and a sedan crashed for unknown reasons.
An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The driver of the sedan was pinned inside the car. The victim who sustained a bleeding head was extricated and transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas for treatment of severe injuries.
The patient’s name and their current condition were not immediately known.
The vehicles were blocking lane 2 following the crash.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
