Salinas, California (December 4, 2019) – A 9-year-old child sustained major injuries in a traffic collision that happened in the area of Salinas on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The major injury crash happened at about 5:10 p.m. along Highway 101 near Potter Road.
As per the CHP report, the accident involved a gray-colored Nissan sedan and a white Dodge Ram 3500 pickup that collided on the southbound side of the highway for unknown reasons.
Due to the impact, the Nissan sedan went 30 feet off the roadway and broke its axle.

Officials said the 9-year-old child who was a passenger in the Nissan sustained major injuries in the crash.
The victim was attended to by paramedics and then airlifted to the hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the current condition of the patient remains unknown to this time.
The CHP is still investigating to identify the cause of the accident.
