Motorcyclist Dies in Interstate 5 Hit-and-Run Accident near Florin Road in Sacramento
Sacramento, California (May 19, 2021) – A motorcyclist died Tuesday night following a hit-and-run accident in the Pocket neighborhood in Sacramento, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, the deadly motorcycle crash was reported at around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, on Interstate 5 near Florin Road.
The motorcyclist reportedly collided with a vehicle in the northbound lane of Interstate 5, the CHP said.
Deadly Motorcycle, Car Accident in Sacramento
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the rider lying down in the roadway. Sadly, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next kin.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash did stop to render aid to the motorcycle rider and fled the area. The suspect’s vehicle, described as a sedan, was last seen heading northbound on Interstate 5.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
The crash remains under investigation.
