Ruci Salato Among 2 Injured in Sonoma County Hit-and-Run Accident on State Highway 12 near Irwin Lane
Sonoma County, California (June 26, 2021) – Ruci Salato, 30, of Sebastopol, was among two people who were injured Thursday night in a hit-and-run collision in Sonoma County.
Authorities said the crash happened at around 10:42 p.m. Thursday, June 24 on State Highway 12 near Irwin Lane.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Gilberto Suasteguijaimes, 43, of El Verano, was driving westbound on State Route 12 when his 2021 Toyota Prius was struck from behind by a gray Acura sedan that also traveling westbound.
The driver of the Acura sedan fled from the scene after the accident.

Salato, who was a passenger in the Lyft, was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Suasteguijaimes also sustained minor injuries and was taken to Kaiser-Santa RosaMemorial Hospital.
Authorities said the suspect was driving a vehicle believed to be a gray 2009-2010 Acura TSX four-door Acura sedan.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
The CHP is investigating the crash. Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact the authorities at (707) 588-1400.
